Ollie Johnson

Ollie Areather Johnson, age 90, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital. The daughter of Reed Sr. & Ollie (Stevenson) Henley, she was born on November 27, 1927 in Jackson, Mississippi. Ollie graduated from Davenport College with an Associates in Science Degree. She worked for Amway Corp. for 28 years and retired at the age of 65. She spent the remainder of life enjoying her son, his wife, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. She loved animals and donated to the Humane Society for many years. Ollie enjoyed listening to Jazz music and watching movies in her free time. She is preceded in passing by her parents; siblings, Rose A. Fisher, Da merith Faris, Flossie "Boots" Curtis, Augustus "Buddy" Lee Henley, and Reed Henley Jr. Ollie is survived by her son, Craig (Petronella) Johnson; grandchildren, Craig Johnson II, Mya Johnson, and Farai Johnson; as well as one great-grandchild, Aaliyah. A memorial service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Ave. S.E., Wyoming, with Rev. Nathaniel Moody officiating the service.
