Norman Williams

Norman Albert Williams, age 84, of Lakeview, formerly of St. Johns, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mount Pleasant. The son of Elbert Lawrence & Bessie Jane (Whitman) Williams, he was born on July 30, 1926 in Harrison. A veteran of World War II, Norman proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1947 and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Edmore. He retired from General Motors in Lansing, where he worked in the chrome plating department, after 34 years of service. Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing bingo. He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Clara, Helen, Betty, Iris, Laura, and Loraine; four brothers, Eugene, David, John, and Robert; and a step-son, Thomas Bond. Surviving are his wife, Patricia A. Williams of Lakeview; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie & Angie Williams of Kentucky; a daughter, Teena Hines of Grand Ledge; a sister, Beverly Chorak of Dimondale; his step-children, Terry Bond of Mt. Pleasant, Deborah Mueller of Virginia, Michael Lane of Howard City, and Sharon Lane of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Honoring his wishes, burial will take place privately in the family plot at Harrison. Instead of flowers, contributions in memory of Norman to either the American Diabetes Association or the Edmore V.F.W. post would be appreciated.
