Norman Burns

Norman Robert Burns, age 75, of Idlewild, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. The son of Bert and Grace (Thomas) Burns, he was born on December 30, 1936 in Irons, Michigan. A proud veteran Mr. Burns served in the U.S. Army. He is survivied by his wife, Maryilyn (Labadie) Burns; two daughters, Deborah & William Walker and Shelly & Thomas Gordon ; two granddaughters, Tiffany Topping and her fiance' Zach Corby and Kayla Topping; and a great-granddaughter, Paige Corby. Visitation with the family is on Friday from 12-1 p.m. at the chapel of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 3000 Monroe Avenue N.E., where memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Chaplain Bob Dennis, of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, will officiate with military honors rendered by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grand Rapids Home for the Veterans. Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, was entrusted with the arrangements.
