Norma Peterson

"What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us." Norma Jean Peterson, age 78, of Jenison, passed away at home on Monday, March 11th, 2019. Norma was born on December 27th,1940 to the late Sidney and Jeanette (Bruining) Woudstra. She grew up in Wyoming and graduated from Wyoming Park High School. After completing her cosmetology certification, she worked for a short time as a cosmetologist and later began work for Smith Industries. She continued her career at Smiths' and retired after 48 years of service. Norma lived a long life centered around those she loved. Those who hold her close in their hearts will smile remembering her joy for shopping, gift giving, football watching, and daily visits & phone calls. Norma was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mark Braat; and grandson, Joshua Braat. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Braat; granddaughter, Ashley & Andrew Brown; grandson, Mark & Mary Braat; the littlest loves of her life, her great-grandchildren, Joshua Braat Jr., Makenzie Downs, Hendrik Brown, Addison Brown, and Baby Braat- to come; sisters, Bonnie & Jim Linscott, Cheri & Charles Crick, and many nieces and nephews and beloved friends. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place.
