Mr. Neal Harvey Varney, age 49, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, Aug. 20, 2006 in the emergency room of Spectrum Health United Memorial-United Campus, Greenville. The son of Harvey and Genevive (Lillie) Varney, he was born on Aug. 3, 1957 in Greenville.
A 1977 graduate of Belding High School, Neal was employed with the Stafford Communications Group as an assistant crew chief in the new printing plant. Throughout his life he enjoyed motorcycles and was a member of the American Rodeo Riders on Wheels (ARROW). He also was part of the G.T.T. Racing Team, enjoyed playing cards, throwing darts, and shooting pool.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Varney in 1999. Surviving are his mother, Genevive Varney of Greenville; a sister, Adelia & Dallas Martz of Muskegon; a brother, Donald & Gloria Seabolt of Greenville; his girlfriend, Dawn Sellers of Sidney; several aunts and uncles; many, many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with burial following at Rest Haven Memory Gardens. The Rev. Kenneth Harger, pastor of Shiloh Community Church, will officiate.
Visitation is on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where envelopes for memorial contributions will be available.
