Nancy Rood

Nancy Lee (Muma) Rood, age 83, of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Nancy was born in Detroit, MI, on April 3, 1935, to the late Clair and Carmen (Muller) Muma. Nancy graduated from Godwin Heights High School with the class of 1953. On June 19, 1954, she married the love of her life, Willard "Bill" Duane Rood in Wyoming, MI. Nancy worked a number of years as a librarian for the Kent County Library System as well as Byron Center and Godwin Schools. She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Bill and their four children, Randall (Susan) Rood, Gregory Rood MD, Elizabeth (Paul) Hoppenrath, Jane (Todd) Young; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister, Judy (John) McKenzie. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Lucas Michael Lemke; and in-laws, Mabel (Lawrence) McLenithan and Reo (Josephine) Rood. Per Nancy's wishes cremation has taken place.
