Nancy Elizabeth Fild, age 77, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
Nancy was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 1, 1939 to Gertrude (Van Velzen) & Arend "Jack" Koetsier. She attended Creston High School in Grand Rapids. Nancy married James Fild in 1959 and together they had three children. Nancy worked as a paraprofessional for Grand Rapids Public Schools for 30 years. She loved working with the kids, and especially had a heart for the many special needs children she helped over the years! One of Nancy's favorite places to spend time was Northport in Leelanau County. She spent long hours looking for, finding, and collecting many, many, many Petoskey Stones! She also loved dogs with a special place in her heart for her Dalmations. She was a huge fan of sports, and enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams, the Tigers and Michigan Wolverines, whenever they played!
