Nancy Bradley

Nancy Maria Bradley, age 77, of Greenville, passed away late Saturday morning, Sept. 24, 2005 at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice. The daughter of Francis Ray & Jessie June (Kenny) Baylis, she was born on Aug. 7, 1928 in Ann Arbor. Nancy was a proud alumnus of Ann Arbor High School and had attended Eastern Michigan University for one year. Nancy married George Curtis Bradley twice -- the first time on July 21, 1951 in Greenville and again on Sept. 11, 1993 at the home of their daughter, Polly, in Livonia. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Greenville, Per Gradus Club, Greenville Country Club, Grand Rapids Yacht Club, and a number of bridge groups in Greenville. An avid athlete, she favored golf and bowling, as well as providing Curt with expert help as crew on their sailboat. She also enjoyed mentoring and working in the Greenville Public Schools. Nancy will always be remembered for her generous spirit, warm smile, and fierce devotion to University of Michigan sports teams. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kathryn Sorensen and Jean McDonald; a brother, Richard K. Baylis; a niece, Jean (Sorensen) Stout; and a nephew, Dr. N.P. Pete Sorensen, Jr. Surviving are her husband, Curt Bradley of Greenville; four children, Polly Ann Bradley of Lowell, Mass., Patricia Rieman, and her husband Joseph Pourroy, of DeKalb, Ill., Jeffrey W. Bradley of Grand Rapids, and Amy Sue Bradley-Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ross & Shirley Baylis of Traverse City, and Joseph & Shirley Baylis of Menlo Park, California. She also leaves a grandson, Nicholas Gaynier of Boston, Mass.; a granddaughter, Madeline Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; several nieces and nephews including, Carol Sorensen of Greenville, Rae & George Dewberry of Phoenix, AZ, Jane Wolfe of Albuquerque, NM, Darren & Jennifer Wolfe of Parker, CO, Jeff & Kathy Baylis, John, Brian, and Sara Baylis; and many great nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005 from the First Congregational Church, Greenville, with the Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Honoring Nancys wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation with the family is at the church on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. For those planning a memorial tribute, the family suggests contributions to the First Congregational Church.
