Nancy Jo Bencker

Nancy Jo Bencker (Strong), of Alto, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at her home.

Born on August 7, 1962, in Ionia, Michigan, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar L. and Ruth L. Strong. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Peter Bencker, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love, family, and joy. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Lyle Bencker, and brothers-in-law, Ronald Bencker and Larry Bencker.

Nancy is survived by her three daughters Emma Vander Ziel, Analyse Veenstra (Chad), and Perry Huver (Zach). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kollyns, Nolan, Stetson, and her soon-to-arrive Baby Huver. Siblings Lee Wittkop (Dale), Kay Butcher (Mark), Susan Strong (John), Carol Strong, Mother-in-law Delores Bencker, sister-in-law Michelle Tava (Tom), sister-in-law Debbie Craig (Tim), along with 10 nieces & nephews and many great nieces & nephews. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Recently retired, Nancy was looking forward to a new chapter of rest, reflection, and time with loved ones. She will be remembered for her kind heart, warm presence, and the constant smile she carried—a smile that could brighten even the darkest day.

We will be celebrating Nancy’s life and legacy, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Ada Bible Church - Cascade Campus, 8899 Cascade Road S.E., Ada, Michigan 49301.  Visitation with the family begins at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday with memorial services being held at 12:00 Noon, all at Ada Bible Church.  A luncheon will follow and committal services will be held at a later date.  The memorial will be live streamed for viewing. A link through Ada Bible Church will be available the day of the service.
