Mitchell Bodick

Captain Mitchel Ames Bodick, age 49, formerly of Livonia, Westland, and St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on Tuesday evening, July 12, 2011 at the family home in North Muskegon under the loving care of his family and Harbor Hospice. The son of James Jay & Kay Diane (Calkins) Bodick, he was born on November 27, 1961 in Detroit. A commercial sword and tuna fisherman for over 20 years, he attained the rank of Captain at age 20 and was the youngest captain of his era. Mitch loved the ocean, he will be imbedded in our memories and missed so very much by everyone... but the fish. Surviving are his mother, Kay; siblings, Marlea, Mark, and Jimmy; special nephews and nieces, Jesse, Chelsea, Steely and KayAnna. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place.
