Mildred Whitaker

Mildred Elaine "Millie" Whitaker, age 86, of Six Lakes, went to meet Jesus on Monday, August 10, 2020 from her home under the loving care of her family and McLaren Hospice. She was born on March 12, 1934, in Stanton, and on February 21, 1953, in Edmore, she married Robert Clarence Whitaker. Together they enjoyed 67 years of marriage, raised three children and made their home in Lansing until retiring back to the area, where they were members of the Edmore Church of God. Millie also enjoyed quilting, and loved watching the birds at the feeder and the deer in the yard. She was preceded in death by her mother, Blanch Johnston; a sister, Mary Gray; and a brother, Albert "JR" Lovette. Surviving are her husband, Robert "Bob" Whitaker of Six Lakes; their children, Dan & Sandy Whitaker of New Era, Cheri Whitaker of Kiltworthy, Ontario, Canada, and Bobby & Ann Whitaker of St. Johns; a sister, Lee Maneke of Sand Lake; four grandchildren, Corey Carpenter, Josh & Erica Whitaker, Missy & Norman Nielson, and Zach Whitaker; and ten great-grandchildren.
