Michael Salois

Michael Leo Salois, age 81, of Allendale, Michigan, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. He was born December 24, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan. He worked for thirty years as a public safety officer with the City of East Grand Rapids and was also an EMT and firefighter before that. Mike married Maggie Helen Hart on December 30, 1994, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mike was an avid sailor and fisherman. He was a big fan of the Lions and Tigers, and enjoyed attending the Tigers training camp each year in Florida with good friend Al. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Maggie Salois; sons, Michael (Cynthia) Salois and Pat (Michelle) Salois; daughters, Chris (Louis) Russo and Deidre Morris; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Dee, Joyce, and Ellie; and dear friends, Al Paxson, Larry Gingrich, and Jeff Hawley. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Dorothy (Boussie) Salois and brothers Jack and Jim Salois. Per Mike's wishes cremation has taken place and private family services were held. Maggie would like to extend a special thank you to all of the family and friends that have helped her and Mike through this difficult time and for their love and support. Also, a thank you to Spectrum Health Hospice for their care and compassion at the end of Mike's life. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Spectrum Health Hospice in Mike's memory.
