Michael Pointer

Mr. Michael Pointer, age 22, of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 11, 2009 under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. Born on April 6, 1987, in Grand Rapids, he was a brave and strong man who courageously battled cancer the last three years of his life. Michael was an avid NASCAR fan and in his passing, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. lost his biggest fan. Survivors include a daughter, Erika Pointer; his girlfriend, Ashley Miller; his father, Gilbert Pointer; two sisters, Amy Pointer and Emily Pointer; and a half-sister, Joi Miller. Honoring Michaels wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. A public remembrance is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
