Melvin Lee Merriman, age 76, of Townline Lake, Lakeview, began his earthly journey on September 16, 1939 in Grand Rapids and his family and friends walked him Home on November 21, 2015. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served from 1957-1960.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marinus & Helen Pauline (Bos) Merriman. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Gloria (Rynbrandt) Merriman of Lakeview; their three children, Brenda & Frank Kilbourne of Marshall, Steven Merriman of Grand Rapids, and David & Jeanne Merriman of Six Lakes; two grandsons, Daniel and Lucas; a sister, Pauline VanElst, and her children Julie, Pam, and John Jr.; and his mother-in-law, Henrietta Rynbrandt Abbey.

Visitation with the family is from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Lakeview United Church of Christ, 115 Fifth Street, Lakeview, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Pastor Dave England will officiate and military honors, rendered by the United States Navy, will conclude the ceremony. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
