Matthew Larosa

With hearts filled with love and memories, we remember Matthew Gerard LaRosa, born on June 11, 1961, in Pinckney, MI, and who called Grand Rapids his home for the last 30 years. Matt’s life was characterized by his unique blend of humor, kindness, and a generosity he kept close to his heart and never thought twice about. He was the embodiment of support, always there to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a timely joke to brighten any situation. His spirit was infectious, lighting up the room with his laugh and clever wit. Matthew was a dedicated husband to his wife, Kathleen LaRosa, whom he married on November 14, 1987. He was the loving father of Sydney, Lucas, and Alexandra, their happiness and successes his greatest joys. Matthew was also a proud father-in-law to Andrew Tilk and Juan Manuel Vega, welcoming them into the family with open arms. Matthew is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, his proud mother, Denise, his cherished children, Sydney, Lucas, Alexandra, Andrew, and Juan Manuel, his eight wonderful siblings, and many beloved nieces and nephews. His life was a testament to the power of love, humble generosity, and humor. Qualities that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent LaRosa, whose spirit and strength continue to inspire and guide the family. Reflecting on Matt’s life, we cannot help but remember even as a young boy, he focused on making sure everyone around him was happy and taken care of. A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday August 29, 2024, from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at JT’s Pizza, 6716 Old 28th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
