Matthew Ambrose

Matthew Adam Ambrose, age 90, of Kentwood, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Heartland Health Care Center in Grand Rapids. The son of Matthew & Beatrice (Nelivikas) Ambrose, he was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the Asiatic-Pacific theater. For over 30 years he worked at Applied Arts Corp. Survivors are his children, Richard Ambrose of Battle Creek, Janice Eskola of Kentwood, and Gregory J. (Susan) Ambrose of Charlotte; a step-son, Jerry (Sharon) Winicki of Imlay City; and several grandchildren. Committal services, with full military honors, are at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. Arrangements were entrusted to the Michigan Cremation Company, Grand Rapids, honored provider of Veterans Funeral Care.
