Mary Thompson

Mary Elizabeth Thompson, age 99, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at The Lodge at MapleCreek were she resided. The daughter of Frank & Annie (Sutton) Jockey, she was born on July 28, 1915 in Hickory Valley, Tennessee. Mary previously resided at The Terraces at MapleCreek, as well as in Jacksonville, Arkansas and Miami, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Arden Thompson; and a son, Joseph Leroy Thompson. Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Lanning; a son, James Thompson; four grandchildren, Louis Andrew (Brenda) Biggs, Deborah Thompson, Gary Thompson, and Lonnie Thompson; two great grandsons, Christopher Biggs and Joshua Biggs; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends. The family extends their special thanks to the staff at The Lodge and The Terraces at MapleCreek for their loving care of Mary. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
