Charles C. Morgan, 83, and Mary C. Morgan, 84, of Ionia, formerly of Stanton, both passed away peacefully within six days of each other and are once again together forever.
Mary Catherine Morgan died on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Leon Hershal & Ruby M. (Welch) Ordiway, she was born on September 12, 1938 in Alma.
Charles Corwin Morgan died on Monday, May 1, 2023 at SKLD of Ionia. The son of Elmer Ellsworth & Fleeta Belle (Blumberg) Morgan, he was born on December 7, 1939, in Carson City.
They married on July 3, 1957, in Stanton, and together they enjoyed over 65 years of marriage, raised three children, and worked together at the former Electrolux Home Products in Greenville. After they retired, Charlie & Mary spent their winters as "snowbirds" in Florida.
Charlie was a jack of all trades and self-proclaimed master of none. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and NASCAR. Mary loved playing cards, crocheting and gambling... especially her trips to the casino with her children, as well as playing cornhole, cribbage, and poker.
They were both preceded in death by their parents; a son-in-law, David Cliff; and a granddaughter, Trinity Cliff. Mary was also preceded in death by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Audrey & Donald Dukes, Donna Jean Ordiway, and Beverly Ann Ordiway; and Charlie was also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Borton.
Surviving are their children, Charles C. & Mary Morgan II, Shree Beardslee, and Brenda Cliff; Charlie's sister, Corla Morgan; a brother-in-law, Lewis Borton; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation with the Morgan family is from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where envelopes for memorial contributions will be available.
