Mary Herp

Mary Ann (Snay) Herp, age 74, of Wayland, joined her beloved husband, Carl, on Thursday, January 24, 2019. She was born May 13, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late George and Evelyn (Burke) Snay. Mary married the love of her life, Carl Lewis Herp, in New Salem, MI, on November 27, 1965; the couple celebrated 42 years of marriage together before Carl passed away on December 28, 2007. Mary was a proud member of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi. Survivors include her four children: Christopher (Michaun) Herp, Patrick Herp, Shannon (Bob) Richards, and Donna (Ronald) Cozart; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Susan Kruzel; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, at Michigan Cremation and Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Ave. S.E., Grand Rapids, with the rosary being recited at 5:40pm. Visitation will continue on Sunday, January, 27, 2019, at the funeral home from 12:00pm until 12:45pm. A funeral service will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Sunday with Deacon Edward LaRoche officiating. Per Mary's wishes cremation will take place and she will be buried at Salem Township Cemetery next to Carl. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
