Mary Noel Easter, 63, of Grand Rapids, died on December 5, 2010. Mary was born in Detroit on December 22, 1946, the daughter of Edward and Antoinette Easter. Surviving her are her beloved children: Simon (Jennifer) Peffers of Acton, MA, Joseph (Trisha) Peffers of East Grand Rapids, Peter Peffers and Anne Peffers, both of Lansing; and grandson, Sebastian of Acton, MA; her eight siblings and eleven nieces; thirteen nephews. A graduate of Central Michigan University and Purdue University, she was currently an affiliate professor of Writing at Grand Valley State University. Friends and associates knew her to be a keenly observant, witty, creative, and artistic woman. She could transform a barren house into a home; liven a gathering with astute, quick humor; maneuver her motorcycle over out nations most scenic roads. But mostly, Mary enriched the lives of the many people missing her today. Memorial contributions can be made to the Stanley Medical Research Institute; Att: Shakira Butler. 8401 Connecticut Avenue, Suite 200, Chevy Chase, Maryland 20815.
