Marvin Gillette, age 81, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019
Marvin died unexpectedly! He was born in Muskegon MI and raised on 'Jackson Hill' by his parents Elsie & Frank Gillette (deceased). He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1/1956 to 3/1959. When he moved back to MI he settled in Grand Rapids where he met & married Noralyn Bohnstengel on March 24, 1962. Surviving after 57 years of sharing his life, are his saddened wife and children: Roxane (Ron) Huizingh, Louane (Nathan) VanLaan, and Kevin (Charlene) Gillette; His cherished granddaughters: Kimberly Gillette, Hannah Huizingh and his great grandson, Asher Gillette. Marv had 3 treasured sisters: Maxine (Robert) Hatch (deceased) of Muskegon; Pauline Swartout of Muskegon; and Delores (Frank) Martin of Kentwood. All his nieces and nephews & even their children were cherished by him! As were his many friends! He worked for several various types of sales organizations ending with many years at K & M Northfield Dodge doing a variety of jobs even continuing after retirement in 2000 to work part time!
His memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, Aug 24, 2019 with a luncheon to follow at Plymouth UCC, 4010 Kalamazoo Ave SE Grand Rapids MI 49508.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, with internment at a future time in Rosedale Cemetery's (Standale MI) 'Garden of Courage' niche.
