Mark Norman

Mark Allan Norman, age 59, of Alto, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, after a battle with lung cancer. He born on the 30th of April, 1964 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mark was a proud and dedicated certified public accountant. He started working alongside his father at Norman & Associates. He later worked for Ernst & Young before his retirement from Crowe Horwath in 2019. He was known for his integrity, hard work and was a steward to the profession. Mark found joy in nature, outdoors and on the water. He enjoyed hunting, camping, hiking, spending time on his different boats. He was a proud member of the Forest Hills Club Campground in Sarancac where he served on the board as treasurer. He was also a member of The Alano Club in Caledonia for almost two years. Mark's had a love for woodworking; he was not afraid to get dirty. Mark married Robin Norman on married on November 18, 2017, together they lived comfortably in Alto. He was a devoted father to his sons, Kyle and Ryan, and a proud grandfather to Julia Norman. His love for his family was evident in his actions. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Richard Norman, his mother, Grace Vandyke, and his niece, Casey. He is survived by his wife, Robin; two sons, Kyle & Rebecca and Ryan; granddaughter, Julia Norman; his sisters, Sandy VanBuren & Laurie Norman; brother, Richard "Rick" & Debbie Norman; sister-in-law Ranae Christman, and step-daughter Kara Jones. Visitation for Mark will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, located at 3627 Linden Avenue Southeast, Grand Rapids, Michigan. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society In honor of Mark, we encourage those who knew him to celebrate his life by sharing memories and uploading photos to his memorial page.
