Mark Bellous

Mark E. Bellous, age 65, formerly of Republic and Mohawk, passed away Friday evening, June 21, 2019 at Metro Health-University of Michigan in Wyoming. The son of Betty Marie (Drust) & Cecil Marshall Bellous, Jr., he was born on April 28, 1954 in Detroit. A veteran of the Vietnam War era, Mark enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served our Country attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and retired from AT&T after 25 years of service. Mark lived and worked in the Upper Peninsula for many years until moving to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans in 2005. Surviving are his mother, Betty Bellous of Midland; his father, Cecil Bellous of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Marsha Sapino of Spokane, Washington, and Melissa Bellous of Cash, Arkansas; a grandson, Austin Scudder; and two brothers, Scott & Donna Bellous of Pensacola, Florida, and Brien & Virginia Bellous of Columbus, Ohio. Visitation is from 12-1 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 3000 Monroe Avenue N.E., Grand Rapids, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019. Committal rites, with military honors rendered by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Marine Corps, will follow at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans Cemetery.
