Marjorie Doris Porter, age 91, formerly of Greenville, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 9, 2025 at Green Acres of Lowell under the care of Gentiva Hospice.
The daughter of Roy Calvin & Marguerite (Washburn) Losinger, she was born on November 23, 1933 in Greenville. On September 4, 1965 in Stanton, she married David Myron Porter, and together they enjoyed nearly sixty years of marriage.
Marjorie worked outside of the home at Federal Mogul, and retired after 40 years of service. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenville, and enjoyed music, playing piano, organ and accordian, was a avid reader, and loved participating in Bible studies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Marguerite Losinger; a brother, Robert Losinger; and a brother-in-law, William Steere.
Surviving is her husband, David Myron Porter; a brother, Don & Marilyn Losinger; two sister-in-laws, Faith Losinger and Ardeth Steere; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Graveside committal services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Belding, with the Rev. R. Mark Shaw, Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. A time of food and fellowship will immediately follow the ceremony at Calvary Baptist Church, 12501 Montcalm Road, Greenville.
