Marjorie Mae Hughes, age 88, of Greenville, passed away early Saturday morning, September 29, 2012, at Metron of Greenville.
Following his discharge from the U.S. Army, she married Joseph E. Hughes, Jr., on Nov. 27, 1943, in Lansing. Together, they made in their home in Lansing for over 30 years and enjoyed traveling, as well spending weekends at their Turk Lake cottage. After Joe retired from General Motors they made their home in Greenville. Marge had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 65 years, Joe, on August 29, 2008.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Brooks of Tempe, Arizona; special friends, Lori & Kevin Wiltkowski and Mike & BillieJo Ingraham, all of Greenville; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and neighbors.
Visitation is on Tuesday from 3-4 p.m. at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. The Rev. Dennis C. Johnson, retired pastor of the Greenville Bible Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Deepdale Memorial Gardens in Lansing.
