Mrs. Marjorie Sembla Christensen, 86, of Medina, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born June 11, 1922, in Laurium, Mich., to Oscar and Mary Sembla. Prior to moving to Medina, she resided for many years in Edmore, Mich., where she served as a librarian at the Home Township Library and was active in Our Saviors Lutheran Church and other community groups. Mrs. Christensen was active locally in Kings Daughters, Circle of Friends and St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved to travel and socialize with her friends and family. She is survived by her sons, David (Gail) of Westfield Center and Jeffrey (Patricia) of Rochester Hills, Mich.; granddaughters, Erika, Katherine, Alexandra and Madeline; grandson, Samuel; and great-grandson, Mason. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; sisters, Dora Pasko, Anita Fahlen Whitman and Verna Brewer; and brother, Kenneth. Funeral Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 N. Broadway, Medina. Pastor Thomas Schwartz will officiate. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes-Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St., Medina, Ohio, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Burial, next to her late husband, will take place privately on Tuesday at Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Greenville.
