Marilyn Louise Partridge, age 67, of Greenville, formerly of Westphalia, passed away Saturday evening, January 20, 2024 at Corewell Health-Greenville Hospital. The daughter of Hilary John & Donna Eileen (Melstead) Martin, she was born on February 12, 1956 in Ionia and had worked as a manager at Wendy’s.
On April 1, 1978, in Westphalia, she married Gary Lee Partridge. Later in her life, after her husband passed, her oldest children had grown, she moved to Greenville. She was known as “Ma” to many, now adults, that during the time they were teenagers were having a rough go at life. If needed, she offered a warm place to sleep and an ear to vent, without worry of judgement. That’s not to say you wouldn’t hear her opinion.
Marilyn enjoyed anything she could make with her hands. Cross stitch, crocheting, making ceramics, and sewing. She loved visiting any lighthouse she could get to. Most enjoyable were the near yearly trips to Mackinaw City and the Island so she could see the additional excavation of the fort.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gary L. Partridge in 1984; a granddaughter, Maxine N. Partridge in 2001; and a sister, Rose M. Binkley in 2012.
Surviving are her four sons, Jason D. & Rachelle L. Martin of Sheridan, James D. & Adryan M. Martin of Flushing, Jeffrey M. & Karen L. Partridge of Fenwick, and Jesse M. & Rachel L. Partridge of Greenville; six grandchildren; Olivia Zambrano, Jordan Meyney-Partridge, Cayden Partridge, Stacie Partridge, Makinlee Partridge, Andrew Martin; 1 great-grandchildren Ryder Mehney-Partridge; six brothers and sisters, Judy Smith, Dick Martin, Mike & Liz Martin, Duane Martin, Patty and Gordy Curns, Phil and Robin Martin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins
A celebration of life is being planned for later in the year and will be announced later. Final interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westphalia.
