Marilyn Kuipers

Marilyn Kay (Oudbier) Kuipers, age 72, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home in the evening on Friday, June 13, 2025. She was born August 24, 1953, in Grand Rapids, to the late Russell and Tena (Wybenga). Marilyn's dedication to her faith ad her desire to bring light to those in need epitomized her joyful, generous, selfless nature. Her love and kindness drew people to her. Her friendships lasted for years because she always saw the goodness in others, forgave any wrong, and loved endlessly. Her door was always open. Marilyn had an immense love of animals. She began grooming as a teenager and continued throughout her life. She loved art, nature, and "up-north" adventures. Survivors include her husband, Darrell; children Jon (Liz) VanSolkema, Amber Charles, Tara (Sean) Alger, Robert Cass, Rory Cass, and Robin Cass. She had ten grandchildren, Victoria, Torena, Grace, Lance, Zeke, Alex, Tena, Tegan, Albina, and Zach. Gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm, at Michigan Cremation and Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49548, with a memorial service starting at 5:00 pm with Pastor Terry Heiss officiating. Following the service the family invites you to join them at Brann’s Steakhouse at 4157 Division Ave. for an informal gathering where food will be provided. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Living Grace Church or the Humane Society of West Michigan.
