Marian Kenny

Marian L. Kenny, age 72, of Greenville, formerly of Belding, passed away Tuesday evening, March 1, 2016 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Neil H. & Pauline C. (Patterson) Rasmussen, she was born on June 22, 1943 and was a graduate of Greenville High School. On May 28, 1966, in Greenville, she married James D. Kenny and together they raised two daughters and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Marian had been a Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed car shows and classic automobiles, garage sales, and trips to the casino, as well as NASCAR racing. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband, Jim Kenny of Greenville; their daughters, Kris & Brian Nylaan of Grand Rapids, and Patty & Dan Sweetland of Gowen; two step-granddaughters, Ashlee Sweetland and Molly Sweetland; two sisters and a brother, Betty & Fred Mann of Greenville, Bob & Mary Rasmussen of Grand Rapids, and Marie & Pete Hansen of Gowen; two sisters-in-law, Jo Brown of Greenville, and Pat & John Currigan of Holt; special friends, Les & Betty Stinson; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visitation is Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. Honoring her wishes, private family committal services will be held in the spring at South Sidney Cemetery. Marian would have appreciated her family and friends donating blood in her memory, or giving contributions to Michigan Blood or Gilda's Club. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
