Margarito "Mike" Cardenas, Jr., age 77, formerly of Greenville, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 at his daughter's home in Wyoming under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Petra (Villareal) & Margarito Cardenas, Sr., he was born on December 14, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas.
Mike retired in 2005 from the Oldsmobile & General Motors Stamping Plant on 36th Street in Wyoming after 30 years of service, and enjoyed NASCAR, Football, going to the Casino, but most of all spending time with his family. The 4th of July was his favorite holiday, he loved having BBQ's with his family and friends, hosting block parties and fireworks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Beto Luis Flores; and sister, Faustina Faz.
Surviving are his wife, Maria Cardenas of Grand Rapids; three daughters, Linda & Leo Pina of Saranac, Yolanda & Joe Fuentes of Grand Rapids, and Diana Cardenas of Grand Rapids; nine grandchildren, Rosalinda Pina, Roberto "Donk" Pina, Alexandria (Daveon) Fuentes, Brandon (Autumn) Fuentes, Victoria Fuentes, Josie (fiance, Cole) Fuentes, Ignacio (fiance, Kiana) Morin, Sergio Morin and Yliana Morin; nine great-grandchildren Saige, Sebastian, Sterling, Sway, Avianna, Zuko, Ignacio Jr., Maximus, and Liliana; brother and sister, Pete Cardenas and Gloria (Miguel) Barrera; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deacon Zenon Cardenas of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Parish in Ionia will officiate and Rite of Committal will follow at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
Instead of flowers, contributions in memory of Mike may be directed to Spectrum Health Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
