Margaret Porter

Margaret Ann Batson Porter, 86, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, died on Friday the 21st of March. "Marge" passed after a long and valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer during which she showed her characteristic remarkable optimism and resilience. Marge was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan and attended Nazareth Academy. She was married to Richard Harold Porter who preceded her in death in 1961 after which she parented four children alone. She is survived by her daughters Carol Ann Wilkening, Kathleen Margaret Reichert, a son, Harold Jack Porter, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, all of Grand Rapids, Marge's gift as a good listener, her sense of humor, and charming naivete will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
