Madelyn Caruthers

With sad hearts, we announce the passing of Madelyn Merritt Caruthers, May 5, 1948 - October 30, 2023. A Florida native and alumni of South Sumter High School, Madelyn passed away in her sleep in Lansing, Michigan. Hers was a full life and she will forever be remembered for her unconditional love, laughter at even the hardest of times, and an ever present appreciation for even the smallest of God's wonders. Her love, loyalty, and kindness were blessings to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and all ever in her presence. The family will have a private internment and Madelyn will be put to rest in Sumterville, Florida. A celebration of her life is being planned to take place in the late spring of 2024 in Sumterville.
