Lytle Dale Sowers, age 89, of Greenville, Michigan, passed away early Sunday morning, July 5, 2026 at his home under the loving care of two of his sons and Corewell Health Hospice. The son of Clarence Clayton & Sara Katherine (Williams) Sowers, he was born on June 14, 1937 in Independence, Missouri.

After briefly serving in the United States Air Force, Lytle spent the rest of his working years as a long haul over the road truck driver. An accomplished woodworker and woodcarver, Lytle also enjoyed fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Rosemary (Kellenburger) Sowers and June Rose (Millen) Sowers; a daughter, Kathy Black; a son-in-law, Carl Miller; and a grandson, Zachary Sowers.

Surviving are his children, Theresa Miller of Morongo Valley, California, Curtis E. Sowers of Greenville, Michigan, Ronald D. Sowers of Greenville, Michigan, and Sean Jenkins-Sowers & Tom Sowers-Jenkins of Grand Junction, Colorado; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Lytle’s life is being planned.
