Lytle Dale Sowers, age 89, of Greenville, Michigan, passed away early Sunday morning, July 5, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the loving care of two of his sons. The son of Clarence Clayton and Sara Katherine (Williams) Sowers, Lytle was born on June 14, 1937, in Independence, Missouri. 

He spent his career as an aerospace tool builder while living in Riverside, California. Lytle later continued working as a long-haul over-the-road truck driver. A skilled woodworker and woodcarver, he took great pride in creating with his hands. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and target shooting, especially when those moments were shared with his family. He will be remembered for his craftsmanship, strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and the memories he created with those closest to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives, Rosemary (Kellenberger) Sowers and June Rose (Millen) Sowers; his daughter, Kathleen (Sims) Black; son-in-law Carl Miller; granddaughter Tina Millen; and grandson Zachary Sowers.

Lytle is survived by his children: Theresa Miller of Morongo Valley, California; Curtis E. Sowers of Greenville, Michigan; Ronald D. Sowers of Greenville, Michigan; Sean Sowers-Jenkins of Grand Junction, Colorado; and Shaun Millen of Greenville, Michigan; He was blessed to see his family grow across five generations, leaving behind a remarkable legacy through his children, 11 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Lytle’s life will be held at a later date.
