Lynda Diana Hoke, age 80, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Corewell Health-Greenville Hospital. The daughter of Walter Franklin & Hope (Moore) Myers, she was born on December 10, 1943 in Mishawaka, Indiana.
On December 31, 1961, in Mishawaka, Indiana, she married John Arthur Hoke and together they raised two sons and enjoyed almost 55 years of marriage until John passed away on November 30, 2016. During John’s 21 year career with the U.S. Army, she was a devoted military wife and made their home at bases across the United States and Germany.
When John retired as a Sergeant First Class, they made their home in Greenville and were members of Seeds Family Church. Lynda also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, ceramics, and delighted in playing cards and board games. Loyal to both her Irish and Hoosier roots, she was a lifelong fan of Notre Dame “Fighting Irish” football.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lauralee and Marjorie; three brothers, Richard, Keith, and Robert; and her husband, John A. Hoke .
Surviving are her two sons, John A. & Sharolyn Hoke II, and Kenneth R. Hoke, all of Greenville; her grandchildren, April & Brandon Schulte, Nate Hoke, Rebecca & Jason Young, Kristopher Hoke, Thomas John & Bri Hoke, and Justin Hoke; her great-grandchildren, Brayden James Schulte, Austin Bryceson Schulte, Connor Hoke, Kenya Hoke, Kennedy Hoke, and Casper Hoke; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 and from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pastor Louis Mogdis of Seeds Family Church will officiate and committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, Michigan.
Envelopes for memorial contributions for Seeds Family Church will be available at the funeral home.
