Lynda Buckner

November 25, 1940 — September 25, 2023

Lynda Jean Buckner (Stalsberg) passed away on Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, due to natural causes. She joins the one and only love of her life, Harold Leo Buckner, in the kingdom of heaven. She will patiently wait there for her loving surviving family members, sister, Mary Strait; sons, Harold E. Buckner and Byron (Ron) Buckner; step-daughter, Marsha K Buckner; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Lynda was 82 years old, and lived her life exactly the way she wanted to, mostly because nobody could tell her what to do. Perhaps because she loved Disney so much, she willed her fairytale prince to life. She married Harold at the age of 19, and truly lived happily ever after until his death in September of 2000. The only time she ever considered being romanced by another man was in the early 80's when she had a brief crush on Magnum PI. She spent the majority of her life in Jugville, MI (White Cloud) in the house Harold built, until moving to Lake City, FL to be closer to Marsha (and Disney World) in 1988. She moved back to the Muskegon area to be closer to her sisters, Mary and Aina, in 2001. Lynda enjoyed jobs at Fremont Insurance in Fremont, MI and Wal-Mart in Muskegon, MI. She worked much of her life to be able to afford the travel she loved, going to Disney World dozens of times, and taking road trips across the country. Recently, she spent most of her time reading romance novels, doing word search puzzles, and yelling at the TV during Tigers games and The Price is Right. Her hobbies also included Casino trips, raiding the candy aisle at Meijer, collecting angel figurines, backseat driving, and complaining that the servers weren't bringing the food she ordered fast enough. Even in death, she is impatiently waiting for Publishers Clearing House to notify her of a sweepstakes win. Late in life Lynda was a member of Calvary Memorial Church, 909 E. Giles Road, North Muskegon, MI 49445. She loved this church and the community, and will be honored there at a celebration of her life on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, Lynda would ask that any donations be made to Calvary Memorial Church in her name. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, 616-452-3006.
