Luis Angel Colon Gonzalez “Kittin”, age 70, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, April 26, 2024. He was born November 27, 1953, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, to the late Jacobo and Georgina Colon and raised by the late Angel and Sara Rivera. Kittin worked many years throughout his career as a cab driver. Survivors include his four children, Diana Ortiz, Arlene (Timothy) Keough, Luis Colon Jr. and Manuel (Kristi) Melendez; many grandchildren; siblings, Carmen (Emilio) Ramos, Mercedes Lozada, Carmen Milagros Sanchez, Migdalia Maldonado, Rosa Colon, Ada Colon, Carmen Colon, Lourdes Smith, Myrna Colon, Nidia Colon, Luz Colon, Rafael Colon and Jaime Colon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Juan, Jose, Luis Raul, and Carlos Colon. Visitation will be held Friday, May 17, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue), Grand Rapids, with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Father Steve Cron officiating.
