LuElla Alora Shader, born LuElla Brown, passed away on May 2, 2024, at the age of 101. Born on March 2, 1923, in Ferndale, Michigan, LuElla was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She lived an incredibly vibrant life, moving to Kalamazoo, Michigan after stints in Dearborn, Michigan, and Sebring, Florida. A beloved wife, mother, and teacher, LuElla's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She was the rock that held the family together, including an extended family of cousins and their families. LuElla married the love of her life, James Shader, on March 29, 1948, and together they raised four children: Tom, Jerry, Donna and John. After retiring from a fulfilling career in public education, LuElla devoted her time and energy to doting on her family and friends, always making them know she was genuinely interested in what they were doing. Her passion for education and her dedication to her family were her defining characteristics. LuElla is survived by her children, Tom (Gabi) Shader, Jerry (Robin) Shader, Donna (Dean) Marks, and John (Patti) Shader, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. LuElla was a delight to all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of her loved ones.
