Lucille C. (Weber) Petersen, age 104, of Greenville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 9, 2026, while residing at The Oaks of Belmont.
She was born on September 22, 1921, the daughter of Herman and Elsie (Hass) Weber in a farmhouse just outside Morley, Michigan. She grew up in Greenville, graduating from Greenville High School with the class of 1940. She married Deloy “Pete” Petersen on August 6,1940, and went on a once in a lifetime honeymoon touring the western United States.
Lucille and Deloy “Pete” went on to raise a family within the Greenville community that she so dearly loved. She was a stay-at-home Mom raising her children and assisting in their growth as a Brownie/Girl Scout Leader, assisting with school carnivals and teaching Sunday School. Deloy passed away in 1976, she then entered the business world. She became a real estate agent purchasing her own commercial building which she later opened as the Clay Street Bargain Center.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since she was 15 years old when she was confirmed. Very active in the church she became Treasurer of the Church Women and helped create the Food Closet Mission which is still serving the public today. Her one biggest passion was reading, she enjoyed many books throughout her long life, and one was always by her side.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Deloy, in 1976; a son, William “Bill” Petersen in 2023; a brother, Harlan “Butch” Weber; a cousin, Delores Kennedy; a nephew, David Weber; and a niece, Christy Russell.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Joanne & Ted Lopushinsky of Haslett, and Cathy & Alan Zeigler of Barryton; grandchildren Jacqueline & Doug Ouderkirk of North Carolina, Brian & Amy Petersen of Greenville, Charles Renico of California, Eric & Amy Zeigler of Barryton, Josh Zeigler of Grand Rapids, and Jill & Jeff Harrison of Wyoming, Michigan; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Virginia Weber of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to acknowledge the loving care she received from Dianne and Nancy that helped to keep her in her home till the age of 103 and her neighbors that supported her for so many years. That exceptional care continued when she entered the Oaks of Belmont last spring. We are extremely grateful for all the help we received.
Visitation is from 3-4 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S.
