Lucille Mclachlan

Lucille R. McLachlan, age 84, of Greenville, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Rosslyn & Nina (Maynard) Shelden, she was born on January 15, 1936 in Eureka Township. She married Frank L. McLachlan and together they had four children and later divorced. On September 2, 1984 she married Donald R. Linebaugh and together they enjoyed 24 years of marriage until Don passed away on March 4, 2009. A graduate of Greenville High School, Montcalm Community College, and Central Michigan University, Lucille then earned a master's degree in gerontology at Eastern Illinois University and was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Greenville. Lucille loved to help others, and was so intuitive to know exactly how best to help them. She was known for the variety of hats that she always wore. She enjoyed her flower gardens, her cats, children, grandchildren, friends and National Public Radio. She was active as a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader, Montcalm Area Reading Council tutor, church bell choir, and supporter of Life Long Learners and Heritage Village at Montcalm Community College. Surviving are her children, Frank L. McLachlan, Jr. of Greenville, Jenny McLachlan & Mize Johnson of Chattanooga, Tennessee , Ann & Rick Brady of Rangely, Colorado, and Tom McLachlan of St. Petersburg, Florida; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.
