Luanna Ekema

Luanna Mae (Raper) Ekema 2/1/1928 - 3/25/2020 Luanna Mae (Raper) Ekema, 92, of Jenison, MI, passed away on Wednesday under hospice care and attended by people who loved her. Born February 1, 1928, to Clifford and Beatrice Raper of Grand Rapids, MI, Luanna married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Ekema, after they graduated in 1944. Until her retirement to Weslaco, TX, she worked in administrative positions in the Grand Rapids Public Schools and in business. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Clare, in 2011. She is survived by her sisters, Norma Crosser of Wyoming, MI, Virginia Wierenga of Holland, MI, and Ellen Cramer of Jenison, MI. She also leaves sister-in-law, Carrole Baker of Walker, MI; four nieces; and a nephew. At Luanna's request, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
