Louis Donald Seguin

June 5, 1941 — May 18, 2025

Louis D. Seguin passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025 due to Parkinson's Disease and dementia. Born on June 5, 1941 in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, Louis (also known as Lou, Louie, or Konky) grew up in Fruitport. He graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1959. After serving in the Army he moved to Grand Rapids where he eventually met his match and the love of his life, Rozanne. They married and built a home in Rockford, but he often visited his lakeshore roots and explored new and familiar country roads throughout Michigan. Louis built his career as an talented pattern maker in Grand Rapids, creating everything from intricate automobile parts to children's toys. He loved numbers, science, and spending time in nature. He enjoyed boating, biking, hunting, and walking trails. Naturally competitive, Louis loved sports, whether coaching elementary school basketball or watching his favorite college teams. His was a familiar face on many of the local golf courses throughout the area and frequently played in leagues and tournaments. Louis was truly one-of-a-kind with an endless supply of quick wit often followed by a playful smirk. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and taking photographs, but never at the same time. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Rachel) Gribby; his grandson, Hudson Gribby; and sister, Judy (David) Calhoun. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis & Fern Seguin; sister, Sharon (Bob) Essenburg; brother, Ralph Seguin, and his wife, Rozanne Brew Seguin. Louis was firm about not wanting a funeral service, likely for fear of the tall tales that would be told about him and his antics. In lieu of a formal gathering, consider playing a round of golf to celebrate his life.
