Lori Race

Lori Lynn Race, age 54 of Six Lakes, passed away Saturday May 30th, 2020 at home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice. She was born on January 17, 1966 in St. Johns, Michigan, to Clifford and Donna (Myers) Rueckert. Lori worked at Lakeview Terrace Assisted Living as a certified nurses aide for the past 10 years. Lori enjoyed going to yard sales, camping and fishing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother, Alberta Kosht; and a sister, Brenda Thomas. Survivors include her husband, Frank H. Race of Six Lakes; two sons, Christopher (Kayla) Penix of Canadian Lakes, and Ronald Penix, Jr. of Standish; a daughter, Katie Race of Six Lakes; two grandchildren, Austin Penix and Chloe Penix; brothers, Ron Myers of Elsie, James Forrest of Lansing, Dan (Amanda) Glaspie of Ionia, Lloyd Rueckert of Lansing and Mark Rueckert of Lake Odessa; sisters, Kimberly Darnell of Muir, Sandra Hill of Lansing, and Michelle Anes of Lake Odessa; several nieces and nephews; and a life long friend, Sally Kelley of Ithaca.
