Lori Louise Friese-Cote, age 64, of Grand Haven, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was born January 19, 1960, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, to the late Robert and Mary (Wiseman) Friese. Lori graduated from Onsted High School with the class of 1978. She went on to study and earn her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, MI. Lori married Richard “Rick” Cote on October 19, 2017, in Joliet, Illinois.
Lori would tell you that her greatest accomplishment were her boys. She loved time with her family and friends, especially her grandkids. Lori positively impacted so many people. Her sense of humor was contagious. She loved spending time with her husband, riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles and spending time at the beach in Grand Haven. Lori was instrumental in bringing Relay for Life to Milan, MI. She was the event chair for 9 years and helped raise $500,000 to honor and remember loved ones and to help fight cancer. Lori worked at the Ford plant in Milan, Visteon in Saline, and the Ford Plant in Chicago, IL throughout her career. She was so proud of her time and accomplishments while at Ford.
Survivors include her husband, Rick; her children, Aaron (Samantha) Friese and Dan (Michelle) Friese; step-children, Benjamin (Jacinda) Cote and Stephanie (Sean) Montgomery; siblings, Julie (Joey) Porter and Rob (Lisa) Friese; three grandchildren; and two nephews.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary (Wiseman) Friese.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time. A celebration of Lori’s life will be held at a later date and details will be announced as soon as they become available.
