Lorelei Foscardo

Lorelei "Lee" Foscardo, 82, left this earth for her next great adventure September 10, and is now dancing with the angels (most likely to the "Friday Song"). In addition to the ancestors that left before her, on the other side she has joined her daughter, Debe, son, William, and daughter-in-law, Mary Stapleton, as well as the great love of her life, Charlie Foscardo. She felt fortunate to have found love later in life with her dear friend, Dick, with whom she made many precious memories. She is survived by her brother William "Mickey" (Marion) Rogers, daughter Julie (Paul) Burch, son, Christopher Stapleton, granddaughters Tiffany and Alia, seven great-grandchildren, and her niece and nephew, Tammy and Gregg Rogers. Lee was a wonderful woman of impeccable taste and style. She had a curious mind, was gracious, cheerful, witty, and had a loving and forgiving nature. A fabulous cook, she especially enjoyed cooking together with her kids. She took great pleasure in entertaining friends and family. It was her way of showing her friends how much she loved them. A friend to all, she taught her children to seek out the best in everybody and every situation. An inveterate problem solver, she had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel as much as she loved her home. Lee earned her college degree, with honors, in her 50s, took flying lessons, loved to learn new languages, and believed that one should "bloom where they are planted." Her loves also included horsemanship, home decorating, gardening, reading, the pursuit of knowledge, the arts, and of course, her family. She was one of those rare mothers that was both "Mama Bear" and best friend. She was a joy to be around. An accomplished woman, Lee was among the first licensed female realtors in Michigan. She lent her talents as a volunteer to a variety of organizations and was the last president of the volunteer guild at Blodgett Hospital, as well as a member of Eastern Star. After a career that spanned decades, she retired from Lear Siegler/Smiths Industries. In accordance with her wishes, friends are invited to celebrate her life with a great "After Party." Her family will host an open house from 1:00-4:00 on October 8 at Georgetown Condominiums' community house, Plymouth Inn, 2436 Village Dr. SE. Please dress casually and come prepared to celebrate this wonderful and delightful woman. For those who wish, please consider a donation to Spectrum Health Hospice, whose team was invaluable to the family. Julie and Chris also want to thank all of her loving and caring friends and Healthcare workers who provided such wonderful support throughout this very difficult time. Cherished friend, Linda David, brought joy to her Mondays. Good friend and neighbor, Bill Stanley, was always there to help. Home Healthcare workers, Lindsey, Tonni, and especially Dolores were Godsends over the last couple years. Julie and Chris also appreciate the loving support of their own friends as they try to adjust to a world without their very special and precious mother.
