Lona Romine

View Video Tribute Lona Maude Romine, age 87, of Lincoln Lake, formerly of Holland, passed away peacefully Friday, July 6, 2007 at her home surrounded by the love of her family. The daughter of Adolph & Maude (Mallett) Sharlein, she was born on Dec. 19, 1919 in Negaunee. For many years she assisted her husband, Harold, in the family business, Romine Plumbing and Heating in Grand Haven, as office manager. An avid athlete, she enjoyed tennis, swimming, bowling, and walking. In retirement, Lona and Harold made their home at Lincoln Pines Resort. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Clayton Romine; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lois & Ward Burns. Surviving are a daughter, Terrie Kulczak of Lincoln Lake; a son, Gale (Karen) Romine of Traverse City; three grandchildren, Nathaniel (Melissa) Romine of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Jacobo Romine of Littleton, Colorado, and Robert Kulczak of Grand Rapids; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Sophia Romine of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; special nieces, Sandy (Harvey) Menken, and their daughter Marla, and Sharlein (Rich) Faurot, all of Newaygo; and special friends, Irene Simpkins, Liz Duffy, and Robert Smith.
