Mrs. Lois L. Young, age 86, of Greenville, formerly of Lansing, passed away late Sunday morning, Jan. 25, 2009 at Metron of Greenville.
The daughter of John & Iva (Lutz) Cole, she was born on June 9, 1922 in Iron Mountain and was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Young had been a Foster Grandparent at Walnut Hills School and also had been active with the Commission on Aging in Stanton. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold Gustaf; her husband, Ronald R. Young on Feb. 13, 1973; and a son-in-law, Roger Christensen.
Surviving are her children, Kenneth Young of Owosso and Sharon Christensen of Greenville; seven grandchildren, Jamee & Al Zielke of Whitmore Lake, Mike Young of Florida, David & Cheryl Young of California, Lisa & Danny Forbes of Canada, Melissa Young of Flint, Shanna & Ken Clark, and Chad Christensen, all of Greenville; and seven great grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Greenville, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10-11 a.m. The Rev. Father Phil Salmonowicz will preside and burial will take place privately at Fort Custer National Cemetery near Battle Creek.
