Linda Smith

Linda Jean Smith went to Heaven on November 21, 2012 from her home at 512 S. Baldwin St., Whitehall with family surrounding her in love. Linda was born to Duane D. and Bonnie (Koning) Smith on September 5, 1960 in Montague. On September 5, 1981 she married Roger Gillan, divorcing in 1992. She is survived by a daughter, Jessyca Jean Gillan (Brad) Diamond; two grandsons, Michael and Braxen. Also surviving are her father, Duane and step-mother, Anne; two brothers Rick Smith (Beverly Jones), Mark (Debbie) Smith; a sister Kristi (Troy) Rouse; step-brothers Stephen, Jeff and Greg Lorenz; and step-sisters LouAnne Kelley and Stacie Lorenz; aunts, uncles and cousins; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dirck Morris. Linda was predeceased by her grandparents and her mother, Bonnie. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Whitehall Covenant Church, 900 S. Warner St., on December 1, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Heartland Hospice, 3230 Eagle Drive, N.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49525.
