Linda Poirier, a courageous and spirited soul, was born on December 12, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan. She was the embodiment of resilience, a quality that was evident in every chapter of her life. Linda, who made Big Rapids, Michigan her home for 15 years, passed away on November 1, 2023. From her early years, she was a beacon of strength and determination, her vibrant spirit leaving a lasting impact on all those who knew her.
Linda had a profound love for her family, who regarded her as the heart of their home. She married, Gearld Poirier, on August 19, 1971, and together they built a life filled with joy and love. Linda was a devoted housewife, who found great joy in small, everyday tasks. Her hobbies included sewing and bird watching, activities through which she found peace and tranquility. Linda was a woman of faith, and as it says in Proverbs 31:25 "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." For Linda, these were not just words, but a philosophy she lived by.
Linda is survived by her children, Alan and Laura and her grandchildren, Rebecca, Anthony, Joshua, Shane and Markis, who were her pride, joy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gearld Poirier, and her parents, Oscar and Betty Buchanan. Her memory will forever be treasured in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know her.
