Linda M. Roberts-Berger, age 50, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday evening, Oct. 24, 2007 at Spectrum Health's Fred & Lena Meijer Heart Center, Grand Rapids, after suffering a sudden stroke. The daughter of Ronald A. & Edna Mae (Swanger) Roberts, she was born on Jan. 17, 1957 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was raised in Greenville and then made her home in San Diego, California, where she met her husband, Ronald J. R.J. Berger, a U.S. Navy veteran. They were married on Oct. 1, 1994 in San Diego, where Linda was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3788. She and R.J. had just returned home to Greenville, where Linda was a member of the ladies auxiliaries of the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 and the Moose Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ron Roberts in 1994. Surviving are her husband, R.J. Berger of Greenville; her mother, Edna Roberts of Greenville; four sisters and brothers, Gequittia Roberts-Hagen, and her husband Larry Hagen, of Millersburg, Indiana, Robert Roberts and Cindy King of Greenville, Sheila & Dale Carlson of Paulsbo, Washington, and Dave & Ane Roberts of Greenville; three step-children, Nicole Mary, Michael, and Johnny; four siblings-in-law, David & Kumiko Berger of Ann Arbor, Steven & Keri Berger of Brooksville, Kentucky, Diane Berger of Highland, and Debby & Mike Slavens of Pensacola, Florida; nieces and nephews, Thor, Jason, Daphine, Ian, Zachary, Cryinda, Duncan, Rachel, Mandy, Heather, Jasper, Joella, Gequittia M., Eva, Ronnie, Angie, Danny, BobbiLynn, Jennifer, Brittany, Tuffany, Christy, Dana, Kevin, Brandy, and Richard; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger, pastor of Shiloh Community Church, officiating. Visitation is Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where envelopes for memorial contributions will be available.
