Mrs. Lila L. (Badge) Bush, age 81, of Greenville, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010 at her home. The daughter of Archie & Clara (Pentoney) Bogart, she was born on Sept. 26, 1929 at Crystal. After graduating co-valedictorian from Crystal High School, she married Everett Junior Badge on Oct. 7, 1947 and together they raised one son. Everett preceded her in death on July 18, 1971. On Sept. 6, 1974, at the Central Montcalm Church of Christ in Sheridan, she married Kenneth James Bush, Sr and together they enjoyed 32 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2007. For many years, Lila worked in the marking room at Meijer and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lester J. Sitts V.F.W. Post 5065 in Sheridan. A passionate reader, each day Lila read both The Daily News and The Grand Rapids Press page by page, and also enjoyed watching quiz shows, and eating out. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Barry & Cathy Badge; a grandson, Martin & Jamie Badge; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Haley, Garrett, and Alydia, all of Newaygo; two step-sons, Ken Jr. & Diane Bush of Portland, and Russ & Terri Bush; a step-granddaughter, Charity & Mike Svec; three step-great grandchildren, Kyle, Reed, and Raelyn, all of Big Rapids; a sister, Ruby & Bud Acker of Grand Rapids; and seven sisters-in-law, Sylvia Bogart of Crystal, Marjorie Larsen of Lakeview, Beulah Badge of Carson City, Bonnie & Ken Mitchell of Sidney, Wanda & Ralph Kinsey of Morley, Mary Ann Badge of Grand Rapids, and Kay Badge of Crystal. Lila is also survived by her dear friends, Judy & George Hendrick of Greenville. Visitation is Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Rev. Steve Charnley, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will follow at South Sidney Cemetery. Envelopes for memorial contributions to either the Flat River Community Library or the Montcalm County Commission on Aging are available at the funeral home.
